We are actively sourcing an experienced Process Safety Engineer with 8+ years of relevant process safety and risk experience to sit within our client’s Refinery Process Safety & Risk Team. This will be a contract role for a minimum of 6 months.
Key accountabilities will include
- Experience performing risk assessment and consequence analysis.
- Providing technical safety expertise to project teams to support safety in design
- Facilitating hazard Risk Analysis workshops including Hazard Identification (HAZID); Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) reviews and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) studies.
- Supporting and co-ordinating with other disciplines for close out of process safety actions
- Review and endorsement of Management of Change Notifications
- Providing support for risk based decisions
- Safety Management System Development
- Support Functional Safety Studies/Projects
- Excellent rates depending on your skill set
- 6 Month contract with VERY STRONG probability of extension

- A recognised degree in either Process or Chemical Engineering or equivalent
- 8-10 Years in a (Senior) Process Safety Engineer position, preferably within a mining refinery environment
- Formal HAZOP and Functional Safety qualifications.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the fundamentals of safety & risk engineering;
- Knowledge of safety regulations and applicable industry codes / standards
- Excellent report writing and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment
- A “solutions mindset” and able to manage varying tasks with often changing and competing priorities
- A positive 'can do' attitude to work and the ability to work autonomously or in teams
