Salary: $50 per hour, plus superWe are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Secretariat Officer to provide high-level administrative and governance support across internal committees and working groups. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the effective delivery of internal governance processes in a dynamic government environment.About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end secretariat support including coordinating meetings, preparing and quality-assuring agendas and meeting papers, recording accurate minutes, tracking actions, and supporting committee communications. The role also contributes to the continuous improvement of governance processes and systems.Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional secretariat support for internal committees and subgroups, including meeting coordination, agenda and paper preparation, minute-taking, and action tracking.
- Develop and maintain effective systems for record keeping and document management in line with public sector standards.
- Support committee work programs by preparing confidential documentation, conducting research, and drafting background notes.
- Assist with the ongoing evaluation and improvement of secretariat services and protocols.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and contribute to a collaborative, responsive, and people-focused workplace.
- Contribute to broader administrative and improvement initiatives as required in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated experience providing secretariat support to committees or boards.
- High-level written communication skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and information management systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information appropriately.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of governance requirements in a public sector context.
- Experience supporting or working within government or statutory environments.
- A current satisfactory National Police Clearance is required (or willingness to obtain).
