Relationships Australia NSW (RANSW) supports people through all forms of relationship distress, delivering timely, compassionate and expert care that strengthens wellbeing and connection across NSW.What you'll do
  • Work closely with the Team Leader to support families navigating separation, divorce, and post-separation challenges
  • Provide a warm and professional intake experience for new families, including child orientation (e.g. initiating and sustaining play activities)
  • Elicit, model and foster appropriate parenting behaviours and interactions between children (and young people) and their parents/carers
  • Draw on your knowledge of child development and attachment styles to guide parents in fostering safe, nurturing and secure relationships with their children
  • Provide empathetic, non-judgemental support to families, recognising the impact of trauma on parenting and child development
  • Deliver parenting and child development education and support in away that is strengths-based, culturally sensitive and tailored to the individual needs of the families we support
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, debriefing and training as required
  • Support the wider casual pool on Saturdays and build your leadership skills, with opportunities to grow into a senior role over time

  • Part time, permanent role
  • Based at Blacktown Office
  • 2-week roster as follows
Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
(Every second Wednesday and Thursday, the shift will start and end a little bit later)

What you'll bring
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline or working towards the same is desirable
  • Strong understanding of child development, including age-appropriate activities
  • Awareness of the impacts of separation, conflict, and domestic violence on children and families
  • Experience supporting children, young people, and adults with complex or challenging behaviours
  • Strong administrative skills and high-level case note writing, ideally with trauma-informed practice
  • Knowledge or training in neurodiversity and trauma-informed care (desirable)
  • Flexibility and resilience, particularly during busy Saturdays with high family activity
