.About the roleThe Operating Theatre Assistant is essential to the process flow of the operating theatre and works under the direction of the Nurse Manager. This position involves a seven-day roster with on-call and overtime responsibilities.Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the transfer of patients to and from the Operating Theatre.
  • Assist with transfers and positioning of patients in the operating theatre (once competency has been assessed).
  • Assist with the application of Diathermy plates and positioning equipment within the operating theatre suite (once competency has been assessed).
  • Maintains a safe and clean environment by regularly dry/wet mopping before, during and after theatre lists.
