Our CompanyNEP is Australia's leading provider of outsourced television production services.We are always looking for great people to join our team; people with a passion for people and teamwork helping us deliver exceptional results for our clients.NEP Australia is currently looking for a Lab Broadcast Engineer to join the NEP Platform team to provide hands on technical expertise in our TFC (Total Facility Control) Development Lab environment.This role is based at our state of the art Andrew's HUB in Southbank, Melbourne. The role is primarily business hours, with hybrid options and may require occasional travel and weekend work.The positionWe require a Broadcast Engineer to join the NEP Platform development team.This role focuses on building and maintaining a highly available on-premise IP-based "lab" broadcast facility. This lab will be crucial for the development and testing of NEP Platform solutions and third-party manufacturer products.The ideal candidate will possess proven IP-based Broadcast Engineering experience with a hands-on approach to configuring both physical and software-based broadcast lab equipment. Understanding of and experience in the configuration and deployment of ST 2110 infrastructure is essential, including a good understanding of performance and reliability monitoring solutions.The successful candidate will also contribute to achieving NEP ANZJ operational objectives and plans.Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
  • Design and maintain on-premise scalable 2110 broadcast lab facility
  • Install, configure and maintain 3rd party video/audio solutions within the lab
  • Integrate and maintain COTS hardware solutions
  • Develop and maintain baseline lab environment configurations and recall states.
  • Assist development teams with end-to-end test workflows applying automation where required
  • Provide clear documentation for users and commissioning teams.
  • Consult with stakeholders and support operational goals as required.
Required skills and attributes:
  • Broadcast Engineering experience.
  • Experienced in broadcast media network standards (NMOS, ST2022, ST2110).
  • Hands-on approach to building and maintaining broadcast equipment and facilities.
  • Proficiency with Linux, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Familiarity with scripting, automation, and troubleshooting tools.
