About the Role:
As a key part of our client’s Commercial Projects team, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end execution of installations involving AV, lighting, theatrical rigging, control systems, and more. You'll coordinate with internal teams, guide technicians on-site, and play a crucial role in maintaining project timelines and quality standards. This position also steps into a leadership role during periods of absence by the State Manager, ensuring project continuity and operational oversight.Key Responsibilities:Technical Installation & Supervision
- Interpret and execute installation schematics for AV, lighting, control systems, theatre machinery, and staging equipment.
- Perform and oversee the installation of cabling, drapes, lighting bars, hoists, and structural mounts.
- Conduct post-installation testing and functionality checks.
- Provide onsite mentoring to junior and mid-level technicians.
- Monitor project progress and provide reports/updates to internal stakeholders.
- Step into the State Manager role as required.
- Travel to various sites and client locations to perform installation and service work
- Consult with builders and clients regarding site requirements and expectations, including work health and safety site specific requirements
- Develop and implement Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
- Ensure adherence to all WHS protocols and relevant industry standards.
- Participate in site inductions and enforce safety procedures.
- Liaise with clients, builders, and contractors to meet project goals.
- Communicate effectively with both internal departments and external teams.
- Complete service and installation reports.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Travel as required to client sites (including regional/interstate).
About You:We’re looking for someone with a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead installations independently and as part of a collaborative team. You will be experienced in managing multiple projects at a time.Essential:
- 5+ years of on-site AV or systems installation experience (especially on construction sites)
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, cabling, AV systems, and structural installations
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computing
- Solid understanding of WHS practices and compliance
- Proven critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a solutions-focused mindset.
- EWP ‘Yellow Card’
- AV certifications (e.g., Crestron, AMX, Extron)
- Electrical or trade qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Current Police Check
- Construction White Card
- Full Australian working rights
