Employment type and length: Preference for non-ongoing candidates, however labour hire candidates will also be considered. Contracts through to 30 June 2026.
Location: Flexible working arrangements supported. Candidates can work remotely from one of the department’s many offices across Australia, from home or in a hybrid capacity (mix of office and home-based work).Role overview:
These roles will contribute to the design and delivery of government policy with significant regional implications. Work will involve developing policy advice, supporting whole-of-government decision-making, contributing to multilateral engagement and leading key projects such as national reports and ministerial briefings.Key duties include:
- Drafting strategic policy papers and briefings on opportunities and challenges facing regional Australia.
- Supporting Cabinet and whole-of-government processes to ensure regional impacts are considered.
- Coordinating Australia’s engagement with international policy forums, reviewing research and preparing briefings for delegates.
- Leading planning and delivery for major publications.
- Building strong, collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Experienced, high-performing APS5, APS6 and EL1 candidates with excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.
