Are you an experienced EL 1 Policy Officer with extensive proven government and strategic policy experience? Are you looking for a long term non-ongoing role in an high-performing team shaping policies that protect Australia’s people, economy, and the way of life?Are you based in Canberra, Melbourne or Brisbane and have the ability to obtain a security clearance?If you answered yes to these questions, then this just might be the role for you!
Duties:
- Provide high-quality, evidence based policy advice to senior executives and ministers on maritime security matters and emerging issues.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including national security agencies, ports, shipping industry, and international partners, including secretariat support for industry outreach activities.
- Confidently lead the department’s representation in interdepartmental, industry and international forums and working groups related to maritime cyber and infrastructure security.
- Undertake research and analysis and other activities to propose solutions to complex policy problems, with an awareness of possible impact on strategic, political or policy outcomes.
- Mentor and support junior staff and contribute to a high-performing and collaborative team culture.
