About the RoleThe Waiting List Officer is accountable for the management of patients on the Planned Surgery Waiting List from a clerical perspective within the guidelines of the Department of Health Planned Surgery Access Policy and across the entire continuum of care from placement on the waiting list to day of surgery.Receive and process waiting list forms from specialist clinics, private rooms and other areas of SVHM within stipulated time frame as per DHHS Elective Surgery Access PolicyAccurately create, record and update the Waiting List Screen on Patient Administration System (PAS) as requiredEnsure all queries from patients and clinicians pertaining to clinical management are forwarded to Surgical Liaison NurseMonitor Category 1 patients to ensure they are admitted within 30 daysMonitor Category 2 and 3 patients to ensure timely access to surgery within category timeframeClassifications for this position will be HS1 - HS17 ($58,442 - $64,610 per annum pro rata) + over award ($4.4447 per hour)Your ContributionRelevant experience in administration in a healthcare roleExperience with patient administration systemsWorking knowledge of Microsoft office including Outlook, Word and ExcelCurrent National criminal history check, or willing to obtainWhat we OfferSalary Packaging – Increase your take home pay!Employee Assistance ProgramAbility to join Fitness Passport - Your pass to an extensive choice of fitness facilitiesCBD Location, close to Public Transport and car parkingDiscounts and Promotions always available through our FoundationCulture of continuous improvementFlexible working arrangements possible once competentAbout Planned Surgery
The Planned Surgery Management Team (PSMT) coordinates and case manages patients that are on the St Vincent’s Hospital planned surgery waiting list in accordance with the elective surgery waiting list policy and the Department of Health Planned Surgery Access Policy.
