The Executive Director role is a Senior Executive Service (SES) position that forms part of the Division’s leadership team and leads the Priority Initiatives directorate (the Directorate).The Directorate was established to provide a dedicated focus on priority reform work that is outside of business-as-usual activities, and includes implementing and operationalising changes to improve frontline service delivery and enhance integration capabilities within the Department of Communities. The Directorate also coordinates and aligns project development and delivery across the Division.The Executive Director provides high-level strategic leadership and management of vital projects to ensure Government and Departmental priorities and outcomes are delivered on time, are fit for purpose and comply with statutory requirements. This includes supporting effective governance, planning and policy development for all priority projects including those in remote and regional areas to ensure a localised and results driven delivery of services for areas with unique and complex needs.Please refer to the attached Job Description Form (JDF) for more information. To deliver in this role you will have proven experience leading complex and high value projects and delivering strategic sector-wide policy and program initiatives in a human services context. The capability to manage multiple senior internal and external stakeholders both within Communities, across government and the community services sector, including with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations is critical to delivering in this role. A strong understanding of the issues faced by some of Western Australia’s most vulnerable people and communities across both metropolitan and regional Western Australia is essential.The Opportunity
