The project includes the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant with first production in 2028. Works include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical and bulk earthworks.Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert industrial relations advice, including Project Agreement interpretation, Fair Work legislation compliance, and payroll guidance.
- Lead complex ER/IR case management, including disputes, investigations, performance matters, and proactive IR strategy development.
- Act as primary liaison with union representatives, managing consultation, negotiation, dispute resolution, and right of entry processes.
- Support collective bargaining and enterprise agreement negotiations, ensuring accurate union interaction records are maintained.
- Coach and guide managers, HR Advisors, and procurement teams to ensure correct application of agreements and effective employee relations handling.
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders and operational teams, representing the organisation in external forums and negotiations.
- Drive continuous improvement by contributing to people initiatives, capturing IR data, enhancing policies, and improving processes across the project.
- Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or related discipline
- Experience in managing and providing advice on disciplinary matters, investigations and resolving disputes
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation, including award and enterprise agreement interpretation
- Proven ability in managing change processes
- Advanced communication skills and an ability to build and leverage strong relationships to influence a broad range of stakeholders, including senior and frontline leaders
- Ideally you will have experience in large infrastructure projects supporting head contractors as well as subcontractors
