  • Interface with other departments of the business, external agencies and utilities to ensure the coordinated development and timely implementation of projects.
  • Ensure projects are undertaken in accordance with the agreed Project Management Methodology.
  • Maintain and review your project, program and portfolio schedules via an Integrated Master Scheduling tool (IMS) – MS Project.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal clients – specifically, Department Managers and their Representatives – including communicating project status, negotiating project objectives, deliverables and resources/constraints.
  • Undertake scheduled and unscheduled on-site inspections of project works.
  • Communicate and escalate project matters and issues to Senior Managers and above Assist in the reporting of projects to ensure they are tracking appropriately in regard to cost, time, quality and projects are satisfactorily handed over.
  • Follow policies and procedures when carrying out work to ensure risks are managed. Report all incidents, risks and issues to Management on a timely manner.
  • Ensure timely preparation and distribution of project notification/consultation flyers and project signage.
  • Prepare briefs/documents for procurement and engagement of external consultants and contractors in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Undertake tasks and actions as directed by the Manager/Coordinator and Team Leader Project Management which is consistent with the experience, knowledge and training of the incumbent.
  • Provide effective and efficient project management support to the Project Delivery Team.
  • Draft documents, reports and presentations for approval and implementation.
Essential Qualifications
  • Degree Level qualifications in either Civil Engineering, Project Management and/or Building Construction.
  • Class C Drivers licence.
  • WHS construction induction certification.
Essential Experience
  • 2-5 year's experience in managing various aspects of a project/s with an emphasis on contracts management in either Local Government or private enterprise.
  • Demonstrated ability in the delivery of a variety of projects across most construction disciplines e.g. Building, Roads or Parks construction.
  • Experienced in, and demonstrated understanding of the use of contemporary contracts e.g. AS4902-2002 and/or AS4000.
  • Experience in the management of local government project delivery or the equivalent in another sector.
