
Mechanical Engineer

- Design, develop and test mechanical components and systems for our quantum sensor products
- Conduct testing and analysis to ensure that mechanical components meet performance and reliability requirements
- Use 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) to create detailed design drawings and specifications
- Work closely with physicists, electronic and software engineers, to integrate mechanical components into the overall system design
- Collaborate within the mechanical engineering team to participate with design reviews and idea generation
- Maintain part and assemblies within product life cycle (PLM) systems
- Work with external suppliers to build and maintain relationships to push the innovation of our products
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure that designs can be produced at scale
- Maintain a safe and organized lab/machine shop environment
- Assist with the maintenance of deployed sensors
- B.Sc or M.Sc in mechanical, aerospace, mechatronics engineering or related field
- Ideally 2 to 3 years of experience designing and prototyping precision mechanical systems
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software
- Experience designing for a range of manufacturing technics including CNC machined parts
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation tools
- Ideally, experience designing flexure components and optomechanical systems
- Ideally, experience designing system that tightly integrate electrical components
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience working in a small cross-functional teams
- Highly initiative with an ability to work both independently and within collaborative team
- Ability to be hands on for manufacturing & assembling of jigs, prototypes & products
- Must have current full working rights in Australia
